Your challenges

Strict regulatory requirements, growth in stages

A life sciences company moves from research to commercialization, then often to international markets. At each stage its obligations change: tracking funding and R&D projects, tracing lots and serial numbers, meeting the expectations of regulators, customers and auditors.

NetSuite provides a single financial and logistics backbone with an audit trail on transactions. SuiteVise helps you set it up and define what belongs in the ERP and what belongs in your specialized quality or regulatory systems.

Industry challenges

The management challenges of life sciences companies

Unit-level traceability

Medical devices and healthcare products must be traceable by lot or serial number, all the way to the customer.

Frequent inspections and audits

Auditors, authorities and partners expect reliable records and a trace of every change.

R&D to fund and justify

Research programs, grants and R&D tax credits call for precise cost tracking by project.

International expansion

Subsidiaries, foreign distributors and currencies are added as you commercialize in new countries.

How we help

How SuiteVise supports life sciences companies

We define the scope of the ERP with you in relation to your quality management system: which data it holds, who validates it and how changes are traced. This split avoids duplicates and makes audits easier.

We then configure traceability, inventory statuses and access rights, and hand over test scripts and configuration documentation that can serve as a basis for your own validation approach. For groups, see our NetSuite OneWorld expertise.

FAQ

NetSuite for life sciences: your questions

Does NetSuite manage clinical trials?

No. NetSuite is not clinical trial management software: protocols, patients and clinical data belong in dedicated tools. NetSuite does, however, track the budgets, costs and billing of your research programs and partners.

Is NetSuite GxP compliant?

Compliance depends on how the system is used and validated, not on the software alone. NetSuite provides useful building blocks, such as the audit trail, roles and approvals; your quality team must assess and validate how they are implemented. We support you with configuration and documentation.

Can we track serial numbers for medical devices?

Yes. Items can be serialized from receipt to delivery, with a full history for each serial number. The unique device identifier (UDI) can be recorded on items; managing it end to end depends on your organization and labeling tools.
